Vernon and Judy Wheeler started collecting maple sap from 2300 taps in 1978. Vernons passion for maple syrup making started at a young age and through the years he has sought to preserve the heritage of maple sugaring through his many on site museums and displays. During the busy Spring season maple sap is collected from approximately 30,000 trees on the 730 acre forest and boiled on a wood evaporator to craft Wheelers certified organic pure maple syrup. Wheelers log chalet pancake house restaurant, museums, displays, and forest trails are open all year round from 9-3 for visitors (Days open vary by season).
